Welcome to Sunnymead Farm Cottages!

Set within a landscape of undulating pastures and greenery, Sunnymead Cottages provide a peaceful rural retreat. They are located in the High Weald village of High Hurstwood which is in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty on the edge of the beautiful Ashdown Forest.

The Cottages...

The two adjoining cottages, Russets and Pippins, are converted to a very high standard and each provide accommodation for two people. They are in the grounds of the owner’s house at the end of a 200 metre private drive and surrounded by 12 acres of gardens and orchards which are a haven for birds and wildlife.

Each cottage enjoys its own garden area to sit out in and unwind from the stresses of everyday life.

Nearby...

If you want a rest from driving there is access onto a public footpath just outside the garden, and the Vanguard Way is only 10 minute’s walk. Several vineyards in the vicinity produce some rather good wines which can be sampled and bought.

The Bluebell Steam Railway makes frequent journeys from Sheffield Park, with its period railway station and frequent special evening and week-end treats for all ages. A great day out can also be enjoyed in the Ashdown Forest, less than 2 miles away, which is an ideal setting for wildlife and offers the perfect recipe for picnics, walking and riding.

Further afield...

This is an area rich in historic houses and beautiful gardens. Glyndebourne Opera House is only 30 minute’s drive. Why not have a day out, do some shopping and take in the Georgian Spa town of Royal Tunbridge Wells or visit the seaside towns of Brighton or Eastbourne. Battle Abbey and 1066 country are both within easy reach or how about hiring a bike and taking a ride on the Cuckoo Trail.

Practicality...

The Hurstwood, a pub serving good food is just a 5 minute stroll. The nearest railway station is only 6 minutes drive away with direct access to London in about 70 minutes. There is a village store a couple of miles up the road and the major superstores in Uckfield and Crowborough are all within a 12 minute drive.
